Why don’t politicians dress chic? This was the discussions my colleagues and I had at the office today. All the men agreed they need to look like they are on the job and not worrying about their clothes and that is why. I have to admit they made a valid point about that but does that mean being chic is considered frivolous? The guys said the word ‘chic’ is just a French way of sounding grand. But then the French are all about Haute couture and gourmet food et al. They are all about being a little extra into something all for being in vogue. Then we talked about fine dressing and being chic getting too much importance in America these days thanks to the success of TV shows like ‘Sex and the City’ and ‘Desperate Housewives’? I guess with the right amount of money everyone wants to dress up fine. However certain jobs require people to dress sensible and not overdo things like the politicians will tell you.
